Prior to Grid-X Partners, Jessica was the Engineering Manager at FERC and prior to that, the Director of Performance Analysis at North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC). Jessica is a visionary leader and architect. Under her leadership, 18 industry-wide reliability indicators and three composite indices were established first time to determine the reliability of the North American bulk power system. She spearheaded the industry’s reliability metrics and risk assessment programs which served as benchmarks for standards development cited by CIGRE, the North American Transmission Forum, and the US Department of Energy and more. Jessica’s efforts advanced continent-wide data collection and reporting consistency, which is essential for assessing trends and efforts to maintain or improve reliability. She launched a public, interactive, dynamic reliability indicators dashboard which enhanced the visibility of system trends, including new frequency response, protection system misoperations, and system voltage performances. This tool marked a major step forward in benchmarking the North American grid reliability Before joining NERC, Jessica was with PJM Interconnection and ERCOT, responsible for real-time operations support. She started her career at Westinghouse Electric; was involved in generator design and Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) applications. She holds two patents, published over 70 articles, and received the 2014 PES Wanda Reder Pioneer in Power Award for her technical accomplishments.
